Choose Hongdae for performances and shopping, or Mangwon for a market and neighborhood walk. If visiting both, allow separate travel time.

If you have booked a performance, plan around the venue address and admission time.
How should you get there?
Choose Hongik University Station or Mangwon Station to suit the first neighborhood you will visit. Exits are widely separated, so when meeting people, agree on an exit number and nearby building rather than just a station name.
Where should you eat?
Even if visiting several cafes, leave separate time for a meal. At Mangwon Market, choose your meal after checking individual shops' hours, queues and payment methods.
If staying in this neighborhood
Consider accommodation in the Mapo area if you have many days and evenings planned in western Seoul. Check room noise conditions, nighttime entry and the route you will take with your suitcase too.
When you want to change plans
If you cannot get performance tickets, change the day to a nearby meal, exhibition or shopping. Street performances are not always available.
