Choose one place in Suwon, Incheon, Gapyeong or Yangpyeong as the focus of your day. You need transport not just from Seoul, but also from the local station to the attractions and from your final stop back to your accommodation.
In Suwon, you still need to travel from the station to Hwaseong Haenggung Palace
After alighting at Suwon Station, you still need to travel to the entrance of Hwaseong Fortress or Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. Look up whether a bus, taxi or walking suits you. Choosing the palace and some nearby sections of the fortress instead of walking all the walls helps leave time for meals and rest.
Think of Incheon's Open Port area, Songdo and Yeongjong separately
Walking the Open Port area and Chinatown alleys, exploring Songdo's parks, and traveling to or from the airport on Yeongjong Island involve different routes. Although all are in Incheon, they are not one small area you can combine in half a day. Choose the place you most want to visit today first.
In Gapyeong and Yangpyeong, the journey after leaving the station matters
First look up how to get from the railway station to the attraction entrance by bus or taxi. Check whether you can walk between your planned stops, whether the bus service fits your schedule and whether return transport is available. If transport does not work, it is better to reduce the number of stops or change the date.
Save your return route before setting out
Find the route from your final stop to your accommodation and the time that still allows your final transfer. Deciding which stop to drop first if you run late locally makes it easier to keep your return plan. On your departure day, avoid squeezing in a distant day trip before your flight.
