Your First Baseball Game in Korea: Tickets, Seats, Cheering and Food

First choose the stadium and home team for your travel date, then get tickets from the official ticket seller. Plan for cheering sections or regular seating, stadium food and your journey back after the game.

Remember this first

First choose the stadium and home team for your travel date, then get tickets from the official ticket seller. Plan for cheering sections or regular seating, stadium food and your journey back after the game.

01

Check the date, home team and actual stadium together

Check the KBO schedule for the home team, opponent and stadium on your travel date. A club does not play every game at the same venue, so do not travel based on the team name alone. Ticket sales conditions may also differ for the regular season, postseason and special events.

02

Can international visitors book tickets online?

Use the ticket seller linked from official KBO or home-club information. Read whether you can register with an overseas phone number, whether overseas cards are accepted and whether identification such as a passport is required. On-site sales and remaining seats are not guaranteed, so if you visit without a ticket, have another plan in case the game is sold out.

03

Decide whether to join the cheering or get a broad view of the game

Seats near the cheering squad may suit people who enjoy noise and joining in. If you prefer to watch quietly, check the distance from the cheering section on the seating chart. Home and away sections, views obstructed by netting, columns or railings, and exposure to sun and rain vary by stadium and seat.

If baseball is new to you, start by finding the team batting, current inning, number of outs and score on the scoreboard. The two teams take turns batting and fielding to compete for runs. You can follow the game through these four things without memorizing every rule.

04

Enjoy food and cheering with consideration for those around your seat

Think about what you would like to eat, such as chicken, pizza or Korean snack foods, then look up the food outlets at your stadium. Not every stadium sells the same menu. Take your cue from the people around you when joining the cheering, while keeping other spectators’ views and the aisles clear. Balls can fly into the stands during play, so keep watching your surroundings.

05

Check rain updates and leave time for the final transfer

A rain forecast does not automatically mean cancellation. Check the official game status and follow the ticket seller's instructions if the game is canceled or rescheduled. Games can run long, so look up your route back to your accommodation and the final transfer in advance.
