Choosing a neighborhood to stay in is easier if you first decide where you will go often and which days you will return late. Compare airport transport, station exits and the route to the hotel entrance with luggage too.
Myeongdong and Jongno for frequent visits to palaces and the city center
Consider the Myeongdong area if you will spend a lot of time shopping and eating in Myeongdong and Namdaemun, or Jongno if you will often visit the palaces and Insa-dong. Even if a hotel looks close to a station on the map, check the exit you will use with a suitcase, slopes along the way and the hotel entrance separately.
Mapo if you will stay out late in Hongdae and Yeonnam
If meals, shopping and performances in Hongdae and Yeonnam are central to your trip, compare accommodation in the Mapo area. A convenient location for returning late is separate from having a quiet room. Check whether it is on a main road or in an alley, and read the accommodation's information about room location and noise.
Southeastern Seoul for frequent visits to Gangnam, Samseong and Jamsil
If you will visit Gangnam, Samseong or Jamsil repeatedly, accommodation nearby may suit you. Conversely, if you plan to visit the palaces or Hongdae every day, compare the round-trip routes first. Places labeled Gangnam do not all form one walkable area.
What is included in the room price?
Check the final price including taxes and extra-guest charges, the cancellation deadline and bed configuration together. Deciding in advance whether you need luggage storage, late check-in or an elevator also makes comparison easier. Check on the booking screen whether the facilities shown in photos are included in the room you want, as well as the actual price and availability.
