Two Days and One Night: Separate Visits to Hahoe Village and Andong's Riverside

Make Hahoe Village your sole destination on the first day, then visit Andong Folk Museum and the area around Woryeonggyo Bridge on the next. Do not treat Hahoe and the city center as one continuous walking route.

This suits a trip where you want time to stay rather than hurry through village lanes. It includes an indoor exhibition on the second day, but you can leave out the riverside walk according to your companions' walking load.

Getting to the First Stop

Look up services from Seoul or Cheongnyangni Station arriving at Andong Station. The journey from Andong Station to Hahoe Village is additional local travel. If using buses, recheck the officially listed Express 2 and No. 210 through bus information for your travel date. A vehicle alternative is a suggestion requiring separate arrangements.

Day 1 · Focused Hahoe Village Visit and a Stay in Andong's City Center

  1. Hahoe Village Visitor Area

Get entry information and check how to enter the village. Locate the ticket office and parking areas separately from the actual village interior.

Look up stops and operations for officially listed buses toward Hahoe Village from Andong Station on your date, or arrange a round-trip vehicle in advance.

  2. Hahoe Village Lanes

Decide how much to see in public visitor areas and along the river. Do not enter occupied homes or private spaces. Do not add Byeongsanseowon or Dosanseowon Confucian Academy to the same day.

Walk within the village according to on-site guidance. After visiting, return to your city-center accommodation using the transport you have secured.

Day 2 · Andong Folk Museum and an Optional Woryeonggyo Walk

  1. Andong Folk Museum

Check that the museum opens that day, then see the folk exhibitions. Spend the second day in the eastern city area instead of repeating the long local journey to Hahoe Village.

Look up a separate bus or taxi route from your city-center accommodation to the museum.

  2. Around Woryeonggyo Bridge

If there is no rain or wind and you want to walk, explore a little farther along the river around Woryeonggyo. Prioritize returning to Andong Station after seeing the bridge and riverside.

Compare walking routes between the museum and the Woryeonggyo area on the map. If needed, use a vehicle connection and leave out the riverside walk.

Meals and Breaks

Check opening at places to eat before or after the village visit. If choosing Andong jjimdak or salted mackerel, ask about spiciness, saltiness, fish bones and allergy ingredients according to your companions' needs.

Rainy Days or Days When Walking Is Difficult

Postpone or shorten the Hahoe lane walk in heavy rain. Before moving the museum visit earlier, check closing days and local transport. If it is closed, reduce the plan to a rest in the city center.

Preparing for the Journey Back

Set the bus or pickup time for leaving Hahoe on the first day before your visit. On the second day, travel separately from the Woryeonggyo area to Andong Station, then take your booked train.

Booking, Stairs and Weather Checks

  • The Hahoe Village visitor shuttle is not guaranteed to operate that day. Follow on-site guidance.
  • The museum and Woryeonggyo are not attractions immediately next to Hahoe Village.
  • Add performances or activities only when their dates and booking conditions have been confirmed.
