Getting to the First Stop
First look up a route from Seoul to Cheongpyeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line. If choosing ITX-Cheongchun, check on the booking screen that your actual train stops at Cheongpyeong. Book the full itinerary after securing the final journey to the arboretum and transport to your accommodation.
Day One
Garden of Morning Calm
Use the garden map to walk through areas that interest you. Include nighttime illumination only when the operator lists it as an event for that date.
Decide which transport you will actually use from Cheongpyeong Station to the arboretum, such as a bus or taxi. Do not treat the station and garden entrance as a continuous walking itinerary.
Your Booked Accommodation in Gapyeong
Have a meal and rest after visiting the garden. Choose accommodation by first checking how to reach the Gapyeong Rail Bike boarding point the next day rather than by its photos.
Search separately for the journey from the arboretum to your accommodation and from there to the boarding point the next day. Include accommodation pickup or luggage storage only after receiving confirmation that it will be provided.
Day Two
Gapyeong Rail Bike
Arrive according to the meeting instructions for your booked session. Recheck that you booked the Gapyeong route, and confirm the rider numbers and conditions of use.
The arboretum area in Sang-myeon and the boarding point in Gapyeong-eup are far apart and require separate vehicle travel. Do not confuse it with other rail bike boarding points, such as Gimyujeong or Gyeonggang.
A Meal in Gapyeong-eup and the Journey Home
After the activity, eat and return to Seoul. Sort out your booked train and luggage rather than adding another attraction in the time left.
Replan travel to your meal stop and Gapyeong Station from the route's finishing point listed by the operator. Do not assume departure and arrival points are the same.
Meals and Breaks
Choose your first day's meals around your arboretum visit and accommodation location. On the second day, rest over a meal in Gapyeong-eup after the rail bike. Do not expect breakfast at your accommodation or late restaurant opening without confirmation.
Rainy Days or Days When Walking Is Difficult
Both the garden walk and rail bike are outdoor activities. If rain and wind are forecast, read each activity's operating and cancellation rules, then change the date or leave out one activity. The rail bike is not guaranteed to run whenever it rains.
Preparing for the Journey Back
On the second day, use Gapyeong Rail Bike's finishing instructions to plan travel to Gapyeong Station. Choose a Seoul-bound Gyeongchun Line service or a booked train that stops at Gapyeong. If you left bags at your accommodation, first account for the return journey to collect them too.
Booking, Stairs and Weather Checks
- Book the rail bike after checking the session, rider numbers and operating conditions. Overseas payments and foreign-language support are not guaranteed.
- Do not treat the arboretum and Gapyeong Rail Bike as neighboring places connected on foot.
- Nighttime illumination and blooming flowers do not guarantee continuous operation or the same scenery.
- If garden slopes and pedaling the rail bike are demanding, choose just one activity.
