A Riverside Day in Yangpyeong: Semiwon and Dumulmeori

Getting to the First Stop

Check the destination of your Gyeongui-Jungang Line train from Seoul to Yangsu Station. After alighting, decide whether to walk or take a taxi to Semiwon's entrance. If long outdoor walks are difficult, do not plan to walk both the approach from the station and the garden visit.

One Day

   Semiwon

   Use the garden map to choose the areas you want to walk and see the waterside planting and scenery. If lotuses are your aim, check blooming updates first. Do not expect the same scenery in every season as in a single photo.

   Compare walking and vehicle routes from Yangsu Station to Semiwon's entrance. Check tickets and the areas open that day before entering.

   Dumulmeori

   Enjoy the riverside scenery and take a short walk. If the Semiwon walk was enough, stay and rest in just one riverside area.

   If Semiwon's boat bridge is open, follow the official guidance to cross to Dumulmeori. If it is closed, assess the actual amount of travel on the outer route before detouring, or visit only one place.

   A Meal and Rest in Yangsu-ri

   Return from the riverside, then eat and sit down for a break. If planning to wait until sunset, arrange your return transport first.

   Find the route from your last walking point to a meal stop and Yangsu Station. When choosing a restaurant, consider the direction back to the station too.

Meals and Breaks

Choose a place with seating for a meal in Yangsu-ri. Bring water and have meals instead of spending the day only on riverside snacks. Ask the restaurant directly about spiciness, ingredients and dietary restrictions.

Rainy Days or Days When Walking Is Difficult

Do not walk both places consecutively in rain and wind or extreme heat. Even in light rain, check Semiwon's public areas and boat bridge status, and shorten the walk. This is not guaranteed to be an alternative route connected indoors.

Preparing for the Journey Back

Check the route from your last meal stop to Yangsu Station and Seoul-bound Gyeongui-Jungang Line trains. Avoid lingering at Dumulmeori and then rushing on foot for a train. If using a taxi, allow time in case none can be assigned.

Booking, Stairs and Weather Checks

• The boat bridge cannot be used on Semiwon's closing days and at certain other times, so check notices for the day.
• Blooming flowers and riverside scenery vary by season and weather.
• Wheelchair and stroller access along the entire waterside walking route is not guaranteed.
