Opening Hours and Bookings
Jongmyo normally closes on Tuesdays, with general admission on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and timed visits on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. General hours: February–May and September–October, 09:00–18:00 (last admission 17:00); June–August, 09:00–18:30 (last admission 17:30); November–January, 09:00–17:30 (last admission 16:30). However, from 2026-10-29 to November 15, it switches to general admission except on closing days. Market stalls operate individually, and safety restrictions take priority at Cheonggyecheon.
On timed-admission days at Jongmyo, individuals in parties of fewer than 10 can buy tickets on site, but must match the language-specific sessions. Check conditions separately for groups of 10 or more and foreign-language sessions. Prioritize the applicable notice during the general-admission period from 2026-10-29 to November 15.
This suggests half a day for the Jongmyo session, a market meal and breaks. Actual time varies with your visiting pace and queues.
