An Exterior Walk: Namsangol Hanok Village, Chungmuro and Myeongdong Cathedral

See traditional houses and gardens at Namsangol Hanok Village, then pass through Chungmuro to view Myeongdong Cathedral's exterior. Mass times do not mean indoor tourist visiting hours, so follow on-site guidance for entering worship spaces.

How Much Walking Is Involved in Each Section?

The times and distances below are map-route records checked in the source. Allow separate time for visits, queues and meals. Actual walking distance changes if your starting or finishing point changes.

Opening Hours and Bookings

The traditional houses at Namsangol open at 09:00 and close on Mondays, except when a public holiday falls on Monday. November closing times conflict between the official home page and FAQ and the visitor guide, at 20:00 and 21:00, so this itinerary suggests visiting before 20:00. The garden's 24-hour opening is separate from visits to the houses. Tourist visiting hours inside Myeongdong Cathedral could not be confirmed. Plan to view the exterior and follow Mass schedules and on-site guidance.

General hanok village visits are separate from cultural-activity bookings. Follow the applicable guidance for cathedral Mass, guided visits and groups; indoor tourist entry is not guaranteed.

This suggests half a day for traditional houses, city travel and breaks. Actual time varies with your visiting pace and queues.
