Distinguish Sokcho-bound buses from Seoul and their arrival terminals. Plan onward local travel to the coast, market or Seoraksan and connect it with your return bus. Fares and journey times vary by travel date, service and seat. Use the links below to look up actual tickets and compare the full journey from your accommodation to your first stop.

Which Method Would You Like to Use?

Express and Intercity Buses

Look up departures from Seoul's Gangnam area or Dong Seoul and check the arrival terminal in Sokcho on your ticket. Sokcho Express Bus Terminal and Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal are different places, so routes to the beach or market differ too.

Trains and Routes via Other Regions

Do not assume a direct train from Seoul to Sokcho Station is currently available. If visiting another city such as Gangneung before traveling to Sokcho, look up the connecting bus separately and compare transfer waiting times too.

Rental Cars and Tours

If you want to combine places far apart, such as Seoraksan and the coast, compare vehicles or tours actually on sale. Hiking can delay your return to Seoul, so do not keep adding stops in an effort to reduce travel.

After Arriving in Sokcho

The Seoraksan entrance, Sokcho Beach and the Tourist and Fishery Market are not the same alighting point. Use Sokcho's bus information to find exact stops and directions, and check transport back to the terminal after coming down the mountain too.

Plan Your Return to Seoul Too

Compare the departure terminal on your Seoul-bound ticket with the one you arrived at. Hikes and road journeys during the autumn-foliage season may take longer than planned, so choose when to end your hike around your return service.

Before Booking and Setting Out

  1. Save the exact departure and arrival places and date from the booking screen. Check the Korean names too, to avoid selecting a different hub with a similar English name.
  2. Read the booking service's requirements for overseas-issued cards, phone numbers and passport names, and check that a ticket was actually issued after payment.
  3. If choosing a short connection, check movement inside the station, check-in deadlines and the conditions for handling delays. Even when using on-site purchase as an alternative, remaining seats are not guaranteed.
  4. Save your accommodation address and station or terminal maps, and check that your phone's data connection works.
